Vote For Peace Campaign

JFK-Inspired Campaign

The "Vote for Peace" campaign is a typographic and visual storytelling project inspired by President John F. Kennedy's iconic peace speech. The project emphasizes the profound impact of voting through compelling graphics and striking typography, connecting historical ideals to contemporary global conflicts. By integrating JFK's powerful rhetoric with modern-day imagery from conflicts such as Russia & Ukraine and Israel & Palestine, the campaign visually contrasts the harsh realities of war with the hopeful potential of peace.

The project consists of two key components:

  • Main Poster: A bold, typographic layout highlighting JFK's speech excerpts, paired with historical and contemporary images to amplify the timeless call for peace.

  • Instagram Carousel Campaign & Poster: A dedicated "Get Out The Vote" initiative designed around an iPhone text message visual concept, including a complementary campaign poster. The carousel culminates in a cracked phone screen as a powerful metaphor highlighting ongoing conflicts and the urgency of voter participation.

Together, these deliverables demonstrate a thoughtful approach to political messaging and voter engagement through visual communication, utilizing historical context to resonate deeply with current audiences and inspire civic action.

Concept Sketches

These early sketches explore the concept for my JFK-inspired peace poster campaign. Drawing on powerful imagery from Kennedy's speeches, the goal was to evoke a sense of hope and unity amidst current global conflicts. The sketches include dynamic use of type and imagery to reflect the urgency and emotion behind the call for peace. Experimentation with layout, visual hierarchy, and color choices helped shape the final design, which combines vintage and modern elements to bridge past and present struggles for a more peaceful future.

Vote for Peace Campaign Poster

The final JFK-inspired peace poster brings a timeless message into the present. By integrating excerpts from Kennedy’s speeches with powerful visual elements like bold, striking type and contrasting imagery, this poster calls attention to the global need for peace. The use of clipped photos and layered text highlights the tension between the past and today’s issues, creating an urgent, emotional response. The design merges mid-century elements with modern design principles, capturing Kennedy's vision of peace while resonating with today’s struggles.

GOTV Campaign Poster

This Get Out The Vote poster uses the concept of being 'left on read' to emphasize the importance of participating in the democratic process. The visual of a text message conversation, complete with an unanswered message, serves as a metaphor for the future of a nation that remains ignored when citizens choose not to vote. By tapping into the idea of ghosting someone on text, the poster connects with a younger audience who might be more familiar with this experience. Bold type and minimalistic design keep the focus on the message, urging viewers not to ghost their vote. The campaign taps into the emotional impact of missed opportunities, encouraging action and civic responsibility.
